It does stop scavenge, but only if you can do it before they scavenge. Exiling the card is part of scavenge's cost, so you can't stop it on the stack. I bet a lot of people will learn that the hard way at the prerelease.

If you're planning to hate on creature reanimation in aggro, consider Vile Rebirth instead. This card definitely has its uses, though, especially given that it hoses Snapcaster Mages by exiling their attempted target, without costing you a card.

I'm a pro so I often times mainboard graveyard hate. Not only can this stop scavenge and flashback but you can also draw a card which is icing on the cake.

Perfectly attuned to the flavor of the Orzhov- Inspite of whatever set the guild is set in, its presence is felt and feared by all, and no debt is to great to collect.

The only non-land card to be reprinted from the original Ravnica Block but even then it was a repeat. Don't expect many other reprints in Gatecrash.
