Stats-wise, this card turns into Phantom Warrior, a 1BlueBlue card, and while that card never saw much play, this survives board wipes and can also tap for mana. Additionally, this card is an amazing Cipher target since the card will still be encoded even when it's not a creature. I would say this card is either better or tied with Rakdos Keyrune for the best keyrune of the set.

It could've been a 1/1 unblockable and it still would've been playable.

No joke, I was doing a draft and since the set is new, I didn't know what I was doing. I ended up getting this but didn't have any blue, although I did have a simic keyrune and 2 verdant havens to produce blue.

This actually did 20 damage to someone in a single game.

Looks absolutely AMAZING in foil... All foil artifacts with symbols do, though.

I like to play some of these along with Homicidal Seclusion in my Grixis deck. Surviving all but instant-speed removal and beating for five unblockable lifelink is just tops. And if I smell an instant coming, I can just tap it for mana instead.
