Not expecting 5s or 4s or anything, but surprised at how low this is currently rated. With Innistrad block Zombies, especially Gravecrawler, this can be pretty awesome. Those decks tend to run low on defense, and with the ability to bring the sacced creature back (or have it come back from undying...here's looking at you, Geralf's Messenger), this fills one of the few small gaps those types of decks can have.

How do you keep your enemies away?

Build a wall made out of your past enemies.

I have a zombie tribal pauper EDH deck that focuses on attrition. I use creatures like black cat to make attacking me painful, as well as a ton of removal to constantly batter down my opponent. Using cards like ghoulcaller's chant, I can keep getting the chumps back. This card works wondrously as it allows me to use those 'when this creature dies' creatures to chump, except now it will kill the creature they 'block'.

This card isn't great or anything, but it's pretty strong if you use it right.

4/5

Compare to Blood Bairn. This guy can fill in for her, providing free sac just fine.

I can think of a very punny new name for this card.
You ready for this?
Here it is:

"The Blocking Dead"

You're welcome :)
