Versatility is great. Mana cost is really, really bad. If it had cost one less or been an instant it would have been much better.

I agree, at this CMC I think an instant in warranted. Considering 
already has Path to Exile, O-Ring, Ray of Revelation, I really don't think a 5-cost sorcery will gain much traction ( even though O-Ring can be removed and Ray only destroys. )

You'll want this in Limited if you play White; everywhere else it's garbage. Even in Limited, waiting to get to 5-mana to take out a creature will be tough, especially since you'll most likely be skipping an integral turn for casting your own bombs.

As a flavour enthusiast, I was remiss when I put this into my deck at the prerelease and didn't bother to read the italicized text. Three or four rounds in, I was talking about it with somebody and they said "Yeah, it's cool - I sent my opponent's guy to jail too." I had no idea what he was talking about at first, but once he directed me to the flavour text I had a newfound appreciation for the card.
From now on, this card will always be "Sky Jail" to me. =)

Gross - a functional reprint of an unexciting card instead of an adjustment thereof to give it a nudge forward? (e.g., a cost of
