With the unbanning of Wild Nacatl and Bitterblossom in Modern, I suspect this gem will start to see more play. 
to destroy BW Token's side of the board. Sounds good. +1 mana of any color to wipe away Naya Zoo's presence. Sounds good too. Moving up from there you start blowing up Tarmogoyfs, Bitterblossoms, Merfolk Lords, etc., The trick, of course, is to not blow up your own side of the board in the process ;)

Awesome removal for legacy:
-Easy 2-for-1s when played well
-Kills True-Name and your Mother
-Token-wipes
-at instant speed.
On top of it's other benefits:
-Easily recurable
-Can easily dodge Counterbalance and Chalice of the Void while being set to blow them up.
-0 CMC for Dark Confidant and Tolaria West
-Not a creature/instant/sorcery, so it can't be eaten by Deathrite
