-You are my favourite wall after Wall of Denial but... WHY DON'T YOU FLY? WHY?! WHY????!!!!
-'Cause if I did, I'd be so broken I'd literally tear myself apart.
-...I guess I'll have to settle for Hover Barrier... But you should learn how to fly anyway!!!

this is one of the best defenders I have encountered, save for fog bank. Paired with a flying artifact, this could win the game

Important note: This does not tap the creature it blocks. A vigilant creature blocked by this guy is basically unaffected if it's not tapped another way. Fantastic defender, though.

With Phenax, God of Deception having been spoiled online, I've got the feeling that cards like Wall of Frost are about to get a little more popular. Phenax gives all your creatures (including himself, a 4/7) the following ability:

"Tap: Target player puts the top X cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard, where X is this creature's toughness."

Personally, I love this ability because it rewards mill decks for something that they should be doing to begin with: playing defensive creatures to delay into the late game. I've never been fond of cards like Crosstown Courier that only mill an opponent when they're dealt combat damage. If you're only milling your opponent with combat damage, why not just kill them with combat damage? It's not synergistic at all.

Hopefully the addition of Phenax will allow mill decks to return to their defensive strategies, at least until the late game when they can drop a Consuming Aberration/... (see all)

The sad thing about this wall and other walls that have cool effects when they block is that no one is going to attack into it so you get the effect. That's why you run Leyline of Anticipation to surprise wall-in-the-face your opponents.
