Because Seige Mastadon was too splashable?

Probably the hardest creature to kill that's not a rare do to not having power 4 or greater Vanquish the Foul, Doesn't have power 2 or less Last Breath, more than 4 toughness Lash of the Whip, Pharika's Cure, Viper's Kiss, Lightning Stike, Magma Jet, Rage of Purphoros,Spark Jolt, Hunt the Hunter (it's not green :D), Flamecast Wheel. So the things that can kill it are Divine Verdict, Sip of Hemlock, Boulderfall and Time to Feed for all the creatures that can fight it or kill it and battle there's 27
So in conclusion this card is probably one of the best Devotion enablers.

Talk about power creep. By 2033 blue will have a common 3/5 for 3UU.

When Devotion is a thing, which would you play?: Siege Mastodon, or this?

If it were really worth its weight, it'd be a 4/5 for 2WhiteWhiteWhite. That way, you know they're trying to enforce Devotion.

hundred-handed one

Strictly better is fine, but by the gods does it need to be in the same friggin' set? you could have at least made it color heavy for devotion, or something.

This is the most boring card in the set.

Actually half-decent in draft, as it doesn't die to Last Breath, Vanquish the Foul, Rage of Purphoros, or Lash of the Whip. Still, a 3/5 for 5 is about as unexciting as it gets.

Wizards of the Coast usually avoids putting cards that are strictly better than another in the same limited environment, but they decided White really needed a low-powered medium-sized creature with WhiteWhite to help limited devotion decks. You might want to pair this guy with Evangel of Heliod if you draft them (although they're both pretty weak), but you'll never want to choose Silent Artisan over Hundred-Handed One in a constructed deck.
