Yea, scry 1 isn't enough to justify upping the cost of Smite the Monstrous by 2. Now, if it was scry 3, then it might be playable.

According to the logic of this card, scry 1 is an ability worth {5} at instant speed. By this same logic Magma Jet should cost {14} {R}.
Sorceries usually cost {1} less when it comes to removal and draw (though not always)
The absolutely insane thing about this is what it is sharing a block with. Reprisal,Revoke Existence,Excoriate,Chained to the Rocks,Banishing Light,Deicide,Divine Verdict and conditional but relevant Glare of Heresy. Every single one of those cards and the few I didn't mention are better white removal than Vanquish the foul, and those are just the ones in Theros block. Therefore I must pose the question: why did they print this at uncommon? As a common it would still be garbage, but understandable as a draft card. For 6 this should be destroying every creature with 4+ power or exi... (see all)

Okay, what the hell, Wizards? I could accept this if it was common. But uncommon? Really? Scry 1 is NOT worth 4 mana and sorcery speed, and it's NOT worth 2 mana and upgrading to uncommon. Seriously, this is nonsense. Whenever I see this in a pack, it's just a big **** you.
