I use this in a Golgori deck that focuses on +1/+1 counters. This thing plus Corpsejack Menace is a nightmare.

This would be pretty fun to play right after someone hits you with a Wrath of God.

erm... isn't this just a weak ghoultree? I guess it is slightly cheaper if your graveyard is a bit lighter, but why is everyone saying its so great late game? in a graveyard deck you should have 8+ creatures in your graveyard by then, so isn't ghoultree better?

With a name like Nemesis of Mortals, it has to be a badass. Give it a good Rancor and he's ready to thrash those foolish enough to challenge it.

Hooray for build-around-me uncommons! Between this, Erebos's Emissary, and Nighthowler, i'm pretty sure BG Graveyard is possible. Favorite card in the set. Just wish it had flavour text.

And now, for a Nemesis deck.

Of course Grisly Salvage, Commune with the Gods, and Drowned in Filth all cost the same...

I'm so excited about this card! Snake Tribal is pleased by all these fatties!

2/5
Why? Because outside the borders of standard ghoultree is laughing at this sad creature. Need 4 mana to get a 10/10 in a graveyard deck is sad, as the tree is never casted for more than max 2 mana. What Ghoultree lacks is trample. If this snake would have gotten either deathtouch (logical for a snake) or trample or something it would replace ghoultree in no time. But as a 10/10 without trample this is as useless as the tree, but more expensive.
one can argue that while ghoultree is designed strictly for graveyard decks, this snake is a bit more versatile. But could still need a bit of a polish.

"THIS GAME IS TAKING TOO LONG!": The creature.
Only used it in Limited so far, but there it's a beast. Realistically, it will never be worse than a turn 5 5/5, with the possibility of further reduction. (Commune with the Gods, grab it, then cast it for 3?)
And of course Monstrous 5. For reasons of necessary.
My impression might be a bit swayed by that I also had a Nylea on the field, but it's still a giant snake monster that lives on dead stuff.
Come on, not everything can be a rare from two blocks back. Besides, it might even be better in the current meta where self-mill isn't too common, and you get this discounted twice, with a 5/5 for practically nothing the first time around. It also has double green at Uncommon rarity, which is a blessing for Limited if you ever want to actually use that God of yours.
