"The creature is undercosted"
@Trygon_Preadator: it has 2 more stats than double its CMC and reach can take care of fliers (Green mortal nemesis) that alone makes a good card, I don't think the colorwieght was need though..

Hey, it's the mana cost Thragtusk would have been balanced at.

Power creep is towering these days.

@OrgasmandTea: not being played does not mean it's not powercreep. Hell, Wolfir Silverheart didn't get much constructed use and it's blatant powercreep.

I played this in Limited and even managed to set off its monstrosity cost, even though it cost six mana and my opponent wasn't running flyers. I would expect this to be an issue a lot with this creature actually, in a format where there are very few good targets for its monstrosity ability. I feel like this could have been an uncommon and no one would have batted and eyelash. I know power creep is real and I hate it more than the next person. But a big semi-vanilla fatty that is aggressively costed isn't going to be winning any games. As was mentioned, Vorapede is miles ahead of this guy in playability.

People REALLY don't understand the word "powercreep." Wow.

It's good, sure, but it's boring. In practice, it's just Yet Another Big Green Creature, that can occasionally screw over a flyer.

I don't understand why this is rated so low. It's a 6/6 for 5 which comes out turn 3 or 4 since it's green. It lets you swat desecration demons for christ's sake. If you think about it you don't even have to sac him to kill one either. Lets say your opponent gets one out on turn 4. If you get him out on turn 3 you can just make him monstrous turn four and kill the demon. And if you still think this guy is bad just take a look at Anthousa, Setessan Hero.

It's a colossal problem for your opponent and the answer to a few problems at the same time (flyers, removal, fatties, devotion). And he comes out one turn after your opponent threw their doom blade on Polukranos.

A 6/6 for 5 that has the potential to reach 9/9 and kill a creature the following turn — which, since you're playing green, is likely turn 4 or 5 — and it's not even at 3.5/5? Come on now, what more do you want?!
