Sure, it doesn't have the versatility or card advantage of shelter or the reach of brave the elements, and it cant protect your dudes from oblivion rings and pacifisms, but it does have some very interesting interactions that can't be found with 'strictly better' cards.
My personal favorite interaction is with karmic guide, and it fits the flavor perfectly. Another great angelic renewal target is the sun titan, as it provides protection for such a huge target and the resurrected creature means you dont lose card advantage.
Beautiful, elegant flavor and efficient, synergistic function. What else could you ask for? One of my favorite cards of all time. 4.5/5

Forget just making Sun Titan invincible with this, as stated... throw in a sacrifice outlet and you can sacrifice Sun Titan infinite times! I'm sure you can find something that'll benefit from that.

if one has this on the field and plays Ball Lightning/Arc Runner, if you bring it back to the field with this, will the creature be sacrificed instantly because it's still "during the end step"?

Its Seal of Graceful Reprieve! This is pretty old, but its still up there as far as undying effects go. Absolutely ridiculous with evoke, especially curved into a turn 3 mulldrifter (draw 4 and get a 2/2 flier). Try doing that with Undying Evil, Cauldron Haze, Gift of Immortality, or Faith's Reward.
