The only situation in which I'd prefer this to Mindbreak Trap is while playing with a storm deck myself.
The fact that this card has since been muscled out aside, Hindering Touch is one of my favorite counterspells.

this card is better than Mindbreak Trap. Mindbreak Trap is for people who are too lazy to think. This card, after thinking a bit, is perfectly good at what it does, and doesnt need more power. people talk about power creeping up because the cards are unbeatable. nothings unbeatable. Time Vault, Black Lotus, and Library of Alexandria are all beatable. im worried about brain creeping down.

What a strange place to put Storm. The intent seems to be mass-countering of spells, but something tells me the flow of battle wouldn't allow that to work.

Dragonstorm: You have met your ma--
No wait, you already killed me.
Mindbreak is a mythic rare. This is a common.
Fun fact: Not everybody wants to spend upwards of 10 dollars to get a playset of mythic rares.

Generally, but not strictly, inferior to both Flusterstorm and Mindbreak Trap.

Still a valid sideboard choice against a storm deck, if your light on blue mana. Go with Mindbreak Trap if you can afford the heavier blue cost and the extra $$$
