CCGRick, Phyrexian Dreadnought can be stifled to prevent sacrifice. I have had multiple judges confirm it, unfortunately for me at the time.

How nice. It counters the Eldrazi's Annihilator ability.

(Yes, it does. Check the rules. Annihilator says "Whenever this creature attacks..." and that's a triggered ability which Stifle can counter. Same goes for the graveyard to library shuffle of the Eldrazi Titans. Interestingly, I think Progenitus can't be Stifled and will be reshuffled...)

Anyway, absolutely fantastic card, 5/5, no contest.

So happy I drew two in my recent Scourge display!

Anybody would mind explaining me the art? Great card, but confusing art, even tho it looks awesome.

or a 12/12 with trample... or taplifice counter, and when I say taplifice I mean tap, pay one life, sacrifice search for land. super versatile.

I always use it with my Eater of Days. It's very useful there.

A very versatile card. Hooks you up with some cheap land destruction, an 11/11, or a fog against Storm.

Looks like in the art there's a Scornful Egotist being Stifled. I think I'd die a little inside if that happened to me...

ArgusDundalk: Phyrexian Dreadnought's ETB ability is a triggered ability.
Stifle's card text: Counter target activated or triggered ability.

Do your research before posting such comments.

I'm afraid alot of you are wrong about what would happen if you were to stifle a Phyrexian Dreadnought. The official text on the card says, "When Phyrexian Dreadnought enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you sacrifice any number of creatures with total power 12 or greater." If you were to stifle that, it would stop everything after the word "When" thus making it so you wouldn't have to sacrifice anything. The definition of a triggered ability is anything that follows the words "When", "Whenever", or "At".
