Even if you were playing lots of non-basics yourself (say, a Guild or Shard deck with Red as one color), then this is still going to be about as good as Armageddon. Which, actually, is really really good.

Playing this in an all-basics deck is like playing Wrath of God in creatureless deck. YOU DON'T NEED TO to make it good. You are just winning 'more'.

In a format where almost every land is nonbasic, it really shines in vintage and legacy.

I love this card! Land D for the win! Screw your duals and your cradles and your coffers and your towers and tombs and towers. And those blasted all powerful guild gates. I usually set this up with a vandal blast to make sure i have ALL the advantage. strip mine your one island in response!!

On the flip side I have decks with 0 basic lands. I'd hate to see this. But that's why I run counter spells. And faith's reward. Because there's no kill like overkill.

10/5!!! Print more playable land destruction! It's a necessary evil. And who needs friends?
