One reason to have multiple versions of a card in your deck - flavor text is as likely to change between versions as artwork.

Also funny when you're borrowing your friend's deck, and they immediately know the card because they use it all the time.

This card cracks me up, if one of my friends uses it I get it right nigh on all the time because I remember stupid things like the flavour text off of magic cards but I still cant remember to do my home work on time >.<

What about if you say a flavor text of a card that doesn't have it?

Surprised no one has mentioned using a card without flavor text.

Aha! Finally a cornerstone for my "cards with no flavor text" deck!

Aw, the FAQ says I can't. Fine, I'll just stick to using _____. OH WAIT, you can't play the flavor text ability while it's in your hand. GAH!

Try this: He's smart for a goblin. He can do two things: hit and run.

This is actually a pretty practical and funny card to play with.
Drawing a card for 1Tap is pretty decent, especially considering the average being 4Tap draw a card.

Not only that, but it's kind of interesting when your friends don't know the flavour text of cards with decently known flavour. It's like when you're playing a trivia game and the name is on the tip of your tongue. Also, when you're put on the spot, it's harder to figure the answer out: you DO have about 8,500 different cards with flavour text to remember (4,882 of them don't have flavour text... at least without vowels).

As a test, here's a few known cards with flavour text. Could you guess them without checking?
1. "The soul is only as eternal as I say it is." —Sharuum the Hegemon.
2. "Here sprouted the first seedling of Argoth. Here the last tree will fall."—Gamelen, Citanul elder.

my friend is able to remember everything about every magic card. he can tell you the artist, the de***ion of the the artwork, the mana cost, type, pwr/toughness, creature type (if available), artist, flavor text, errata, mana cost, and even other cards it may have combos with. he'd be practically immune to this card. he's essentially the rainman of mtg and taught me everything I know about the game.
