Used it with Spark Elemental.

In general though, Bust // Boom is way better.

Aside from that combo (which also destroys two of your lands) or using it with Dominus of Fealty, this doesn't seem any good. You can cast Innocent Blood when you have no creatures, but if you cast this you're certain to at least have a land that you'll have to sacrifice.

Only good if you can play it right after your opponent lays their first land and it is a good non-basic one. So, not good.

Such a cool name and such an amazingly powerful - if suicidal - effect. This is like a red smallpox. I love it.

There are a few places where this really works. For me, it is when you have a non-land permanent you don't care about (say a weak goblin or something) and a powerful creature you intend on winning with (like adamaro for instance), while an opponent has a non-land permanent that is really annoying you (perhaps a creature that is too strong to kill or will thwart your plan like Damia for instance).

You tap for 5 mana, cast thoughts of ruin and then cast this when there are no lands left.

It ADDS to land destruction - it doesn't do it well by itself, and taking out a land will often not even be worth it since you will be losing 2 cards to get 1. You cast it the turn after you blew up all the lands so that again, everyone is at 0 mana, or you cast it when there are no lands to sacrifice (on you... (see all)

This is pretty cute with Young Pyromancer. This with Flagstones of Trokair is also pretty cute. Like Smallpox it is much better on the play.
