You can jack up the other guys draw, you can go fetch something with cmc3 into your hand, or you can set the top card of your library if you plan to reveal or clash. This is quite the versatile tool here.

Can find Yawgmawth's Will or Necropotence in EDH. That's enough to make this a nearly automatic include in a lot of Monoblack EDH decks.

@sir_dwar After reading that, I looked at the card again. The guy in the art kinda looks like the guy from Necropotence. At least it does to me.
