Good point. you could use it with something like Insidious Dreams to discard a few cards and set up your mill.

Sands of Delirium is strictly better if you don't concern yourself with life gain.

The life gain is what makes this nice. It's not the greatest card out there for mill decks, but it helps ensure that your opponents run out of cards before you run out of life.

I feel like this should be a 3 CMC artifact, not a sorcery. If it was an artifact it would still be balanced, as it would not be nearly as good as other milling artifacts, yet would give you the benefit of gaining life.

it's quite important to gain time in mill decks, so this can be very nice. too bad its not a lot of life for the price, and not a lot of mill too. could have been something like "mill 4 gain 4 life" for BlueBlack or 5 for 1BlueBlack.
