Once I was able to steal this from someone else. In that same game, he Rite of Replicationed it after he got it back. And I rated this 6/5 because it's a 6/5.

Weenie/token hate stapled to life loss, all on a nicely sized beater. I like it.

@Kaleidostorm

Immerwolf wouldn't have mattered at all unless you had an instant-speed buff in hand to save it, since it doesn't buff itself. Wurm resolves, -2/-2 kills the Immerwolf, then once that hits the graveyard its buff disappears and all the wolf tokens die. Still game.

The tendency of captains to have two toughness is one of the biggest reasons to use this card. Goblin Chieftain, Drogskol Captain, Immerwolf, etc... This is also great against cards whose toughness is equal to the number of creatures you control like Geist-Honored Monk for the same reason. They can be a 6/6 and you'll still kill them if you can take out at least four other creatures before end of turn.

For most token decks, this is the end. When it hits, it's all over. This is an even deadlier answer to token decks than Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite.

I had a fun game with this guy. Rite of replication kicked on him, -10/-10 to everything my opponents controlled, living death GG- Even if I hadn't killed my opponents, I had eternal witness in grave. Good times in EDH.
In a lot of ways, he is very similar to Elesh Norn, but is more flavorful and more appropriately costed for black. He was the first mythic rare I pulled and I pulled a holo too. It wasn't until I started playing EDH that I found a deck for him. I use him in Mimeoplasm as a big body and potentially lethal effect for Tyrannosaurus Alan to copy.

Toss out your Alliance of Arms just before laying this sucker out. A solid play against token and weenie decks in general. And Wurm is a pretty supportable tribe, too.

I'm slowly build a Nightmare Survival deck and I love this guys flavor so much I can decide between him and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. Norn is generally the stronger choice - she boost your creatures as well as weakening/killing there's and the effects are permanent. I may just find a way to run both and call it a day. Against fast token/weenie decks he can win the game just by hitting the field, while Norn let's my other critters win. Depends on which route i want to go. Hmmm...

4.0 - Between power and flavor this guy is all win.

@MagicBrad

Even better when you give everyone plenty of land to feed to Alliance. In a multiplayer format, I play this as W/B/G. Wait a few turns before dropping Collective Voyage and make people happy for a moment. Amuse them even more with Alliance of Arms now that they have lots of land. THEN drop the wurm and watch smiles turn upside down.

Just played some three-headed giant and our opponents were filling up the battlefield with creatures. One used a card that re-summoned this and a clone card I had. First game I ever played where my opponent ended their own life total on their own turn.
