Dies to 2/3 creature. Or 2/1 first strike. ... That being said I can't wait till it rotates out so I can get some for under $20.

My older bro always finds these neat little cards and we contemplate ways how a single card can lead to sure victory. What is quickly realized though is that no single card will always lead to sure victory. Since we play casual using cards ranging from ye olden days to today, there's always a way to deal with a pest like Mr. Geist.

Mind Twist him out of your opponent's hand, or use a Hypie or a Duress or a Hymn to Tourach, etc. etc. Counterspell it, or Cancel or Essence Shatter or Mana Leak etc. etc. Wrath of God the battlefield, or Apocalypse everything out of existence even. Diabolic Edict or miss Liliana of the Veil (among a million other cards) are simple ways to force a sac. Fog or Safe Passage is always an annoying method. Your opponent have it enchanted or equipped with something to make it unblockable? Tranquility, Disenchant, Shatter, Naturalize, Smelt, etc. etc. can make it blockable again. Twiddle, Icy Manipulator, Downpour, Sleep, etc. are easy ways to keep him fr... (see all)

Thankfully, there is a thing called Glaring Spotlight that will allow most people to deal with Traft without a board wipe. That still doesn't mean he's one of the best creatures in standard right now. Absolutely a major headache, and I never ever want to face him again.

New rulings for M14 may have sent this guy's price back up a bit. Glaring Spotlight hurts, but he'll still be a commander nightmare.

In white, feel free to throw Spirit Mantle on him.

If you don't have Spirit Mantle, Brave The Elements works just fine too to ramp up some damage.

Blue? Artful Dodge. More permanent form of Unblockable? Aqueous Form. Not only are you swinging for 2/2 unblockable with a 4/4 angel in the sky, you're getting to scry 1.

All of the above are 1 drops except Spirit Mantle, which is a two drop. No excuses for this guy NOT to be unblockable and racking up a fair bit of damage.

Well if you're playing blue and white and are looking for a way to win through combat damage this just may be the answer at the top of your list.

He was great in standard, is currently good in modern, and is fantastic in 1vs1 commander as a general. easily a 4.5 from my point of view.
