So could the Valkyrie attack (without tapping due to vigilance), do damage to a creature, and then tap to target it before it goes to the graveyard?

I really like this card it is in my top five favorit angels along with
Admonition Angel
Akroma, Angel of Wrath
Iona Shield of Emeria and
Baneslayer Angel

Hello,

I have 2 questions about this card do to a recent set of games I played. The scenario goes as followed:

The opponent players plays the Adarkar Valkyrie, ends turn.

I play a "Phyrexian Metamorph" (When it enters the battlefield you may have it copy target creature or artifact on the battlefield, it is an artifact in addition to its other types) and copy his Adarkar Valkyrie, end turn,

(A Couple turns pass)

The opponent plays a spell to clear the board (debate begins)

So my questions are the following:

1) Can my Phyrexian Metamorph be targeted by the Angels tap ability?(the angel states "target creature other than Adarkar Valkyrie is put into the graveyard" and my Pryrexian Metamorph is a copy of the Angel) Does my artifact also take the Angels name thus preventing it from being targeted by the ability?

2) Also what happens when both players target the same card? Which player get priority to the targeted card and who would control it when it is returned?

When a creature is sacrificed, does it count as it dieing?
This would be great in m Replica deck if it did.
