@Donovan_Fabian
It costs you 11 mana to gain 20 life, though. That's the same cost as Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, for reference...
Personally I think Beacon of Immortality is much better than this one. Even Heroes Remembered seems better... and I don't even like that card.

One of the few actually good "life gain only" cards. Congregate is another one for multiplayer. Still not for serious play though.

Depending on the board state, this could effectively fog your opponent for quite a while.

I had a fun janky combo deck based around Channel, this, and Manaplasm.

You'd double your life total (roughly), attack with 4 + your life total (1 power + 2 channel + 1 minimum dawnglow + X CMC put into dawnglow)

It was a pain to get to work but it was pretty funny when it worked.

Dang, people.

Why isn't this at 5 stars?

@blurrymadness I'm afraid your combo would only make Manaplasm a 4/4 creature - the X spent in casting Dawnglow Infusion doesn't count toward its converted mana cost. CMC is what's printed on the card, always - in this case, 1. No matter what, this card's CMC will always be 1, even if 100 mana was spent for X.

@Hagdorm: I am afraid you are wrong. A spell's cost includes the cost of X which is set when it is cast. From the second ruling on manaplasm: While a spell with {X} in its cost is on the stack, its converted mana cost takes the chosen value of X into account. For example, if you cast Blaze (a spell with the mana cost {X}{R}) and choose a value of 5 for that X, then your Manaplasm will get +6/+6 until end of turn.

As for this card? Its probably the best 1 shot life spell late game? I am still not terribly impressed, but if you play white and green and want life, this'll do it. Probably useful in EDH with those colors.
