Simple reason for relatively weak body:

White isn't for big creatures, and blue isn't for efficient creatures in the first place.

@brunsbr103:

His sword is, from what I can make of it, a long sword. These are lighter than broadswords and thinner, enabling warriors to wield them with one hand. Many used 2 hands though, because that would give them more power. The long sword also has a much longer reach than any other sword, hence the name.

This is a fine card if you're into mixing colors. Knight decks want to play mono-white almost exclusively, and Exalted can do better. This card exists to slow down power-creep. It's set, not at the bar of actually good to play, but at the bar of 'good in limited'. Designing for Limited has done worlds for keeping the power creep almost under control. Too bad Stoneforge Mystic, Jace the Mindsculptor, and Sword of Feast and Famine annihilated that idea in the space of a year. :P

Not sure why people are whining about this card - it's not insanely efficient, no, but it's a tough cheap exalted creature.

With exalted you want high toughness because you need to keep your guys alive reliably and most of them are staying home to act as blockers. This guy gets it done.

Solid on the defense, great for boosting your offense, and synergizes with Bant and Esper well. Obviously more vulnerable than a non-artifact creature, but like with the rest of Esper he's got some nice perks because of his irregularity.
Overall, a well made and highly usable common in my favorite block. Perfect for any Bant deck.

Clearly supposed to be used alongside Knight of New Alara (since all the exalted is W/U/G), making his multi-colorness an advantage and bringing him in at 3/5

Part of a cycle of two-shard creatures. List cuz I'm cool like that.

Kathari Bomber-Jund/Grixis-Goblin tokens and unearth

Etherium Abomination-Grixis/Esper-Unearth on an artifact creature

Ethercaste Knight-Esper/Bant-Artifact creature with Exalted

Sigiled Behemoth-Bant/Naya-Exalted on a creature with a power of five

Godtracker of Jund-Naya/Jund-"power 5+" ability, and dragons. I feel Gorger Wurm might have been better (Power of 5 and has devour) but Godtracker's flavor text fits the cycle.
