This must go into the Political Puppets Commander deck.

And now it didn't.

This guy is a con-artist. Look at his face. He just scammed a poor kid named Timmy out of his dragon and gave it to this guy named Johnny. Now that's an act of treason!

He doesn't sound like a very good trader... what kind of trader just gives his goods away for no cost?

Pretty fantastic card, though, I'm sure you can build a deck entirely around him and stealing your opponent's shit FOOOOREVEEEEEEER with Act of Treason, Mark of Mutiny, Threaten and maybe a Dominus of Fealty, why not.

Why is he giving the Scout Sign?

Make a deck with this and BaneSlayer Angel, a Boy Scouts themed deck?

Love the art on this guy. I also love the design--this is a quintessential Johnny card because of the way it's counterintuitive and requires creativity to use successfully. (And if you do use it successfully, the payout's pretty good--see above comments on Immortal Coil for example.)

As to whether it's actually playable, I have my doubts.

@GrimjawxRULES:

Phage returns to play under its OWNER's control. That's you, so YOU die if you try that one.

I made a fun deck from this guy, Act of Treason, Mark of Mutiny, Traitorous Instinct, Conquering Manticore, Fling, Viscera Seer, Bloodthrone Vampire, and Sarkhan the Mad. I call it my Christmas Deck, since all game the other players give me presents.

Sadly, now Bazaar Trader has a gigantic target on his head. He's been Sworded, Magma Jetted, O-ringed... poor little guy is Public Enemy #1 now in our group.

This + Endless Whispers + Echo EtB card.

For example: Play Avalanche Riders, destroy a land an opponent controls, swing if possible, then give to opponent. The opponent must pay the echo because A.R. hasn't been under his control since his last upkeep. The opponent doesn't have a red mana sitting around and must sac A.R. Endless Whispers kicks in and returns A.R. to your side of the field, you destroy another land that player controls. Pay the upkeep on your turn and repeat.
Even if your opponent pays for the echo cost, that probably means they won't be able to cast much, if anything, so for 3Red your opponent loses a land and can't play any spells over 3 CMC. If you have a shock sitting around, your opponent is out 2 lands and his big spells for the turn for just 3RedRed.

The combo isn't quite quick enough in competitive, I think, but it's good fun in casual. You can exploit it even more by addin... (see all)
