What really makes this nice is instant speed. Cast it after your opponent's untap step and it's like three turn freezing. Adding cantrip would be nice, but I don't think this one needs it so severly, not all cards need to be overpowered.

The flavor text is wrong. Having this played against you in 2HG doesn't feel any better than otherwise.

You actually want to play this during their upkeep (unless you want/need to counter something.) This means you still get to attack twice, not be attacked twice, and they miss what is essentially two turns with their creatures, even if it's mana-creatures or similar.

Flexibility to do that, end-of-turn, or stop hastey threats all make this amazing.

I can't decide if I like this card or Blinding Beam better. Blinding Beam has more value, but if they only have two creatures or only tap two of them, you might as well play Frost Breath for one mana less.

This card is very good, even without a cantrip. It locks down 2 targets for 2 turns.

In a control deck, that's not really what you want to be doing honestly. It's too much like a fog type of effect, or feeling of dread, to buy turns. That can work I guess in some decks, but it's not ideal.

What you want to do is play this in a creature tempo deck. Just tap down blockers and swing in for lethal over 2 turns to win.

Frost Breath is a really good card, people. Here's why:

On your opponent's turn, before they attack, you cast Frost Breath. The opponent's two best creatures are now tapped, so they can't attack.

On your next turn, those two creatures are still tapped, so they can't block your creatures.

On your opponent's next turn, those two creatures are still tapped, so they can't attack.

On your turn after that, those two creatures are still tapped, so they can't block your creatures.

And on your opponent's next turn, those two creatures FINALLY untap. That is the story of Frost Breath and why it is so good. Sleep is still better, though.

4.3/5
