Maybe a bit overcosted (and that's pretty debatable), but the art, the flavor text, the CARD is all-around an example of fantastic design. I'm pretty sure it would also be equipment nowadays (I mean really, read the name again), and equipment with such an effect might be costed....... 4 to play, 3 to equip? I'm not really sure.

Card combo question: Entangler with Inviolability on a 6/6 Yavimaya Enchantress blocking 8 8/8 attacking creatures with trample. Example Blastoderm.
Does the enchantress only soak up 6 total damage (leaving 62 to be taken) or does she soak up 6 from each attacking creature (leaving 16 to be taken)?

Your numbers are a little messed up. Yavimaya Enchantress with those enchantments on her will be 4/4, not 6/6. Blastoderm is only a 5/5. And 64 minus 6 equals 58, not 62. Also Blastoderm doesn't have trample.
To answer your question, a 6/6 blocking 8 8/8 tramplers will soak up damage equal to its toughness (6) leaving the rest (58) to go through. Also, putting Inviolability on the creature doesn't affect how much damage goes through, it just changes whether the creature dies or not.
