This would have been really something if the discard wasn't part of the cost. As is, it's decent for sifting but there are better options.

Personally, I think this card is great! faithless looting is a good card, but the problem with it is the "draw two cards, then discard two cards." This card trades 1 cookie for 2 cookies. It's that simple.

@darkgnosis: Why would this put a counter on Pyromancer Ascension? There's no reason to expect you'd already have one in your graveyard when you cast this. Unless you're thinking that the discarded card would do it? Because that card probably wouldn't be another Wild Guess.

Now think of all the cards you would love to cycle. Squee, Goblin Nabob anyone? or reanimation targets? Hell, even lands late game?
As for using the graveyard, meh, it's nice to discard an anger or something like that but, wild guess is just solid card filtering, it's not really nessecarry. I use this in pretty much all red EDH builds alongside faithless looting because it's about as good as you can get assuming you're not playing blue or black also. Not optimal overall, but gets the job done to keep the train chugging and that's all red can really ask for.
And I have to say I'm quite pleased with red getting a lot better at draw/filter lately from faithless looting, reforge the soul, and this. Keep up the good work wotc. Hopefully they will ship us red players some new goodies in m14.

@zipec: Browbeat is not red draw. Browbeat is a 3 cmc deal 5 damage to a player burn spell, with the drawback of it won't ever finish anyone off and in multiplayer everyone else chooses who it hits.

Oh, I got Past in Flames way too early. Well if the game goes on too long, you'll still be seeing all those burn spells again.
Red's card draws are more about making sure you have the right options. Even Blast of Genius and Thoughtflare play with similar an idea. Izzet in style for sure.

Madness, reanimation, unearth, flashback, whatever. Wouldnt use this unless I was taking advantage of something like that. Would rather just put another burn spell in RDW over this.
