At least it doesnt come into play tapped, but they overestimated this land back then and shimmering grotto outclasses the entire cycle.

*sighs* another land that falls victim to the issue of costing to filter.

"If it was "1, Tap: add White, Blue, or Black to your mana pool" then as a filter land, it'd be all right - coming into play untapped especially - and more useful than it ended up being because of its design.
