Pair with Scouting Trek to get him really big really fast. Then maybe Fling or Double Cleave.

Basically after you get rid of all of your land you do what red/green does with big bruisers

The trick is to play him with Seismic Assault and Life From the Loam. You Shock your opponents three times every turn, and he gets a permanent +3/+3 (or more) every turn!

A few people seem to be confused as to why this is a 4/5 rare. Allow me to clarify.

First, the body. 3/3 for 3 is already on curve, but if you run 24 lands, pretty standard for a red aggro, you have on average +.66/+.66 each turn (look up how to add infinite series to see why), putting this a step above curve.

Second, you can combo this with a number of things. As mentioned, Scouting Trek gives him hilarious pump, Seismic Assault has good synergy, Knight of the Reliquary in Naya is also nice. His combo potential is high, and in the least common color for combos (in my opinion) as well.

Third, he lets you filter your deck. This is probably the most important one, as it means red aggro can reliably get out 3 lands and then never get more, which is exactly what it wants. Additionally, if you build around him and similar cards, you can build with a abnormally high number of lands, giving you a much more focused deck.
