This is pretty fun with Coretapper. Tap for 1 counter, sac for 2 + 1 from the coil itself.

Not sure this is what Nikola Tesla had in mind, but I'm sure he'd nod approvingly.

Also, this and Lux Cannon are the beginning of my Tesla theme deck.

Keep in mind that even though it might have only five counters on it when it triggers, you don't pull the counters off until it resolves. Between the aforementioned Coretapper, Power Conduit, Energy Chamber (because you get to resolve its trigger first), and Throne of Geth, ten or more Elemental tokens is not unreasonable.
