This is the only card that makes me want to play Archdemon of Greed.
On a side-note, at the Avaycyn Restored prerelease, a friend of mine went 0-4 in sealed, his last defeat coming 0-2 at the hands of an 11-yr-old girl whose dad brought her. I wish I had had a copy of this signed by Rebecca Guay to give him to commemorate the day. I'm a terrible, terrible friend...

What i really want to see is this blocking phyrexian obliterator while i have BFM out. just so i really can sac half a permanent, as for other permanents, i think Mark's pollenbright wings rulling can be expanded to this as well. The creature loses half its p/t, and neither half can be used to pay the cost of anything until both halves are in the same zone again (i.e. you can't sack the half that's left on the battlefield to ashnod's altar, nor can you exile the sac'd half to Back from the Brink, or tap the living half to pay for Battle Screech's flashback)
In order to prevent confusion, I too recommend placing half the card in the graveyard.

for practicality's sake you could make a deck with a TON of these in it and pay 1 white mana for every two of them you summon, now if only I could put them in a black deck...
sacrifices...
overwhelming numbers...
these would be even better than goblins and thrulls
