Plays a key role in the Iname, Death Aspect EDH deck. After a mass reanimation (Patriarch's Bidding, Living Death, Balthor the Defiled, Twilight's Call, etc.) Horobi teams up with Kuro, Pitlord to clear out all your opponents' creatures for 1 life apiece, allowing the spirit horde to attack freely.

Great with Eldrazi Monument, especially in a Spirit and Arcane deck. Make all of your creatures indestructible, so that the drawback no longer affects you. Soulshift for your spirits takes care of the sacrificial cost of the Monument, while at the same time gauranteeing that you get to play at least one Spirit spell each turn. Cards such as Waxmane Baku, Skullmane Baku, Teller of Tales, Kami of the Waning Moon, etc all ensure that you get to target plenty of creatures whenever you play a spell. Get enough creatures out and each time you play a spirit, you get to destroy multiple opponent creatures.

Fun with Goblin Sharpshooter.
You'll clear your opponent's board from all creatures (except for those with protection from red and/or shroud) and will therefore likely be able to hit your opponent with Horobi the next turn.

This card seems too cheap for what it can do.

-Abilities- gaining Deathtouch. WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW!? I'll tell you where. He's dead. This guy killed him with a Goblin Sharpshooter. Of course you have to be careful not to use any Enchantment buffs on your own monsters >.> Or they'll die too... But that's a small price to pay for mass destruction in a can, and for only 4 mana. I agree that he's pretty goofy looking though, as he looks more like an old west spook than a jappy spook.

The card reads: "Whenever a creature becomes the target of a spell or ability, destroy that creature."

I can't find any rulings for this card. If a spell or ability is countered, it still targeted a card. Would that mean that the target creature is destroyed even if the spell or ability is countered?

The problem with this guy is that when you play it, you're down four mana that you can use to pay for targeted spells and abilities, and your opponents aren't. So chances are they'll target him before he can kill anything else, while you don't have the mana to do much in response before he dies.

Protect him with shroud, or Darksteel Plate, or whatever, on the other hand, and you basically have the game.
