As for the card itself, I've always loved manlands, and this one is no exception. Glad I pulled one from a booster pack.

If it's a muta... shouldn't it have flying? And damage multiple creatures on attack?

If I have a mutavault an island and a reef shaman without summoning sickness. I then transform mutavault to a creature and attack. My opponent block my mutavault with a 2/3 (it had flash). Can I then change my mutavault to a basic land with my reef shaman so mutavault survives?

5/5, I reserve the rating for a few cards and this is one of them. Well rounded, flavorful, and not independently broken or crappy. Wonderful card, R&D, thank you for this gift. Which is the only way I'll be getting a hold of this card, I'm not buying it for $35.

@lordlan: No. Giving it a basic land type doesn't undo the manland effect.

It's a shame that this is only going to have just a short overlap with Champion of the Parish in standard.

EDIT: @PopcornBunni-ah nope, I didn't read it properly. Well thats a shame, that would have been a beautuiful combo, still got so many uses though.

Hi guys, Complete noob here. Had a question.

I had the mutavault in my land stack area. Paid to turn to a creature and was blocked by another more powerful attach player. Discussion started about if the vault turns back into land or goes into the graveyard. Can anyone help?

Graveyard. Death is death. See Dryad Arbor - that's basically what mutavault is when you turn it on.
