Dragon Broodmother is the only thing that really benefits in Standard right now. Granted, +3/+3 takes most dragons from "really big" to "downright massive," but they don't really need it since they're, you know, DRAGONS. Still, if you're playing a dragon deck there are worse cards.

This card is obviously setup for a dragon based deck. I created one using whelps, Sarkhan, and others, and once this card comes out and I start cranking out some dragons, the game is over. It is a very good card, and I rated it appropriately.

would this card find its way in a tournament winning deck? probably not. does that mean it sucks or is unplayable? NO, how many people that bash this card play professionally anyways? this card can be awesome with dragonmaster outcast and dragon broodmother, basically anything that can produce you tokens for free. ps, these things can stack.

Well, at least your inexpensive Dragon Whelp becomes a 5/6 flyer.

This card is crazy dirty in combination with Dragon Brood-mother and Doubling Season. On everybody's turn you're getting two 4/4 dragons in play. In a 4 player game, by the time it got back to your turn after playing dragon brood - mother (assuming you played doubling season the turn prior) gives you 8 brand new dragon tokens, 6 of which are ready for attacking. Drop crucible of fire on the 4th or 7th turn either way you now have eight 4/4 dragons with flying. Then on turn eight you got 16 of them if all goes to plan.

Nice in Dragon-based EDH decks, where the innate huge size of most Dragons won't go unchallenged by an opponent's own huge creatures. This, however, can push your dragons over the top.

I think if you looked up "win more" in the dictionary, you'd see a picture of this card. Seriously, this doesn't deserve a slot. Play an actual dragon instead!

Such a Timmy card: "I don't care if most of my dragons don't have trample, I'd rather kill your Storm Crows with 9/9 dragons than 6/6 ones!" Seeing cards like this let me know how Timmy I really am.

Artificial Evolution it into a more prolific and smaller creature type and it really is a Glorious Anthem on steroids.
