I feel like there's some kind of modern deck for him with a weird turn 4 win revolving around playing him, and playing Memnites and Ornithopters with a Tempered Steel played the turn earlier.

The obvious first thought is that this guy boosts your mid-game threats, but I really like how he turns late-game 1drops from dead draws to viable, even potent, attack options. Rakdos Cackler, I'm lookin' at you!

I've always loved cards that are not necessarily gamebreakers on their own, but have the potential to be extremely powerful with the right pieces around them. This is one of those cards. It screams "TOKENS!!!! MASS TOKENS!!!!", but anything that gets a boost from its power (ex. Prime Speaker Zegana) or from attacking (Kalonian Hydra) or both (WILD BEASTMASTER BABY!) can produce some shocking results for your opponent.

I also love Master Biomancer for many of the same reasons- they are almost the same card but fit the flavor of their colors- and one of my happiest moments as a Magic player came in an Elf RUG brew with both of them. Against an Esper tokens deck, my opponent tapped out for Obzedat, Ghost Council on his turn 5 to go to 22 life, as my first 4 turns had netted only a couple one-drop Elves, an Elvish Archdruid, and Master Biomancer. I nearly wet myself as this happened since I had a Battledriver and Fungal Sprouting in my hand, and the resulting attack of six 6/4 Saprol... (see all)

Flavor text seems a bit off. I know red is the color associated with passion and ogres are a largely red tribe but... somehow I just don't feel like I would pick 'passion' as one of two primary motivating feelings when speaking about ogres. 'Hunger' 'malice' 'hatred' 'cruelty' lots of things more I'm sure however... call me close minded but 'passion' just doesn't say ogre to me.

You might say that a strong hatred or whatever is a kind of passion, but the word passion on its own has a different meaning without more context.

On other flavorful news the fact that he doesn't haste himself does make sense - he's probably not going to step out of a disorienting summoning experience and start whipping the bejeezus out of himself to drive/herd himself into the fray.

In the Web of War for less mana and a 3/3 body. I love it for swarm decks.

@Taudisban
I think you're seriously undervaluing this card. Don't just assume every red deck is mono red. This works better than Hellrider in some decks. I'd rather have my green fatties enter with +2/+0 and haste than let Hellrider do a measly little pinging.
