Mirrodin is a scary f***ing place. There are way too many artifacts with insane effects like this just lying all around the plane.

Of course there are any number of ways to combo this in order to make yourself all-but-unkillable, such as Delaying Shield or Soul Echo. It may seem like it should be fragile, but it's not too hard to protect seeing as you can freely fire off Delays and even Pact of negation. From there, Parallax Wave and parallax tide can clear the board, and something like Phyrexian Soulgorger or Razormane Masticore should be able to secure victory.

Combos with: Ritual of Subdual, Contamination & Illusions of Grandeur, Mana Vault (will not deal damage to you).
Stops: Land Tax, Black Vice, Aether Vial (from getting more counters), Form of the Dragon (from dealing damage), Oath of Druids, Bitterblossom, Phyrexian Arena/Dark Confidant, Sen Triplets, Jhoria of the Ghitu (and all suspend cards), Esperzoa, Pride of the Clouds, Ivory Tower, Smokestack & too many more to name here.
