I would rather use Vampire Hexmage to crack open Dark Depths, but that being said this has plenty of other uses. Plus, who says you can't run both?

So, beyond the obvious combo with Dark Depths (don't forget to add Vampire Hexmage as well,) it also works well with:
Hunted Horror and other "Hunted"s, Roc Hatchling, Woolly Razorback, Etched Monstrosity (in case you don't have the full 
,) cards with Cumulative Upkeep (resets the upkeep cost, since it is tracked by age counters,) Persist creatures, and Undying creatures. It also has interesting interactions with Everlasting Torment, for better or for worse.
Even without those, it hoses innumerable cards and strategies, including immediately killing all Planeswalkers, as well as gimping Modular, Proliferate, Populate, Evolve, Scavenge, Fading/Vanishing, Level Up, and Wither/Infect (although it won't remove poison counters from players.)

Great go-to for anti counters. For extra token hate, build a UB deck with this and Leyline of Singularity. Everyone at my table with all of their elves, myr, and goblins just LOVE it when I play my anti-token deck.
