I understand the rationale behind this: Even though it does nothing by itself, it fuels Metalcraft, Affinity, and the like. But there are plenty of other 
-cost artifacts that do that just as well, even in standard.
Yes, it's indestructible. But that doesn't really help, since what opponent would bother to use removal on this, anyway? If they've got artifact destruction available to them, then they'll just target one of your other artifacts, one that actually does something.
Unless, of course, they've got mass or repeatable artifact removal, like Shatterstorm or the like. But if you're running a metalcraft or affinity deck and someone manages to pull off one of those, the fact that you've got one useless artifact that survived isn't really going to make you any less screwed.
