Actually decomposition of tissue creates heat which would allow the swamp to keep some warmth and humidity despite it being covered in snow.

Pools of tar covered in ice, nice. But if I look at just the art work, it becomes difficult to tell if I'm actually looking at a swamp or not.

by logic it technically isn't a swamp anymore because it has lost it mass humidity and now its pretty much either an island OR a Forest that just so happens to be wet

ok you butt heads how about we change the name of the card to "Was a swamp before it became snow-covered and has since transformed into a polar wetland"

I actually think this card could benefit from new art :p
Put the emphasis on way more obvious displays of death and skeletons. Make it look like Phyrexia took over the Polar Express. Icy Death is easier to draw than Icy Swamp.

It doesn't matter if it looks like a swamp or if it fits the scientific definition of a swamp. What matters is that there are huge amounts of dead bodies decomposing under the water which is making that sweet sweet black mana.
