The flavor text for this card exemplifies something about the philosophy of Green that many people don't realize (and is sometimes directly opposed in the flavor text of other green cards): green doesn't hate intelligence. Intelligence is natural; it should be used, cultivated, celebrated. The natural potential of every being is incredible, so there is no point in resorting to unnatural things to improve yourself when you can do just fine without them. What it hates is unnatural augmentation, or the creation of unnatural life/intelligence.
Or at least that's my take on one view of green's philosophy.
Also, this is one of my favorite Time Spiral cards ever. It is just so elegant and balanced.

'That's gone.'

'But wait!'

'NO.'

This is what I like to call an "anti-bull$hit" card.

Two Isochron Scepters imprinted with a boomerang and a counterspell? That's bull$hit.
Laying down a stasis and bouncing it on my end step every turn? That's bull$hit!

Krosan Grip is not a card to put up with control like that. In fact, it's cost and split second ability together make this, in my opinion, one of the best anti-control cards ever printed. All you have to do is draw it and have three spare mana for that annoyingly game-altering thing your opponent is doing to count for crap.

Fantastic card, just wished it shut down counterbalance.
Why? Those decks are no good for the game and need to be shut down.

split secant is grate way to deal with anti removal but I am the only person I play with that runs anti removal so I decided not to run this but it is still a great card 4/5.

Personally, I love this card, mainly cause in my group of Legacy friends, I had no choice BUT to love it. Don't believe me? Fine, go against Counterbalance top with a side of humility moat, and tell me it doesn't come in handy...
