@traficko: Not quite right, targets are selected when the spell is cast, not when it resolves (unless the card states otherwise). So when your opponent cast lightning bolt they would have to say if they were targeting a player or creature then you choose if you want to activate story circle

Curiously Story Circle lets me "choose" a source rather than target it.
For example, my opponent wants to attack with Progenitus, so he uses land destruction on my untapped plain. In response I tap the plain and "choose" Progenitus, even though it cannot be targeted by white spells or effects!
Contrast with Gossamer Chains, which cannot be used on Progenitus.

That doesn't look like a circle of stories at all!... Looks more like a circle... of not-stories.

I almost feel like I am cheating when I play this card.
Magic 101 -- When your opponent Disenchants (Boomerangs, naturalizes) Story Circle, tap all your available white mana in response. This will keep an organized attack (or direct damage) at bay for that turn.
Magic 101 -- Story Circle can hold back many creatures like a dam holds back water. Like a dam, though, if it breaks (disenchant) you will be flooded with an attack that may overwhelm you. I would recommend still removing as many creatures from the battlefield to relieve the pressure. It is unwise to think that this protective enchantment will be able to hold back every attack all the time.
Magic 101 -- Finding a balance of white mana to maintain Story Circle and cast spells is the key.
