This card is good because it only targets the aura and not the creature you are attaching it to. That means you can use this to attach and aura like Pariah to a creature with shroud.

I like this card. If you can give him evasion of some sort, he helps overcome the inherent disadvantage of auras somewhat.

@planersibling: If you cast an Aura as a spell, it has to target something so the game knows what it's supposed to be attached to. That's the only part where shroud has an effect on Auras. If another effect puts an Aura onto the battlefield, you choose an object for it to enchant, and things with shroud are fair game unless the effect says it targets the object to attach it to (which this doesn't).
The things that restrict what an Aura can legally enchant are the specifics of "enchant whatever" and protection. As the ruling cites, you can't attach a black Aura to a creature with protection from black (or from enchantments). You also can't attach an "enchant land" or "enchant player" Aura to a creature, you can't attach "enchant tapped creature" to an untapped creature, and so on.
I'm pretty sure Animate Dead doesn't work with this, since Animate Dead enchants a creature card in a graveyard initially. There's a rule (I'm paraphrasing here) that says whenever an ef... (see all)

Also worth noting that it is instant speed. Auras as combat tricks can be sweet.

This really shines when playing against mill. If this guy is on the field and your opponent is playing mill without any immediate means of removing him, they're taking a huge risk to mill you any sizable amount.
5/5, because no one wants to be milled :)

Not just auras with enchant creature anymore. That's a pretty nice change with the errata

@ opinionfailure
The rulings state that you can only attach the aura to a creature that could legally be enchanted by that aura, wouldn't that rule out a creature with shroud?
Either way this card + umbras = virtual creature immortality!

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=193492, once Mythic becomes Extended, expect this to be abused.

I wonder if this works with animate dead. The only thing that might make it not is the "to a creature you control" part, i dont think creatures in your graveyard or anywhere else count as being in your control. But then that makes me wonder about the mechanics of this card and yadda yadda yadda.
