Too slow for red, and too expensive for green. Failure of a card.

Seriously too slow for green? At 5 mana?
Have you ever heard of green mana ramp? I play this turn 3 regularly

If I deal 12 damage with one Deus at one time, can I destroy two lands? The rulings say "increments of 6" so I was just wondering.
EDIT: Okay, thanks... not sure what the low rating was for though. I've since seen it run in a scary deck that ran Mage Slayer and Runes on this. I love it.

Did anathame really just say {G}{G}{G}{G}{G} is too expensive for green? You mean the same green that can generate 4 mana turn three with only the most common elves ever? And the same green that can easily have 6 mana turn three?

Give this guy a Mage Slayer and watch your opponent weep.

What makes this card so amazing is that everyone always overlooks the obvious lack of a keyword in the ability.. its not -combat- damage. This means anything that makes the creature do damage, electropotence, soul's fire, etc, will destroy a land every turn. If you mana ramp this guy out on turn 3 or 4 and start destroying lands your opponent is never going to recover. Later in the game he's still a 6/6 with trample for only 5 mana in red and green, both colors that have great mana acceleration.

Donovan, the ability only works when it does 6 or more damage.
I want to say this card is garbage since the ability is never going off, but it's still a 6/6 trampler for 5 and that counts for something i guess.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did my Maelstrom Pulse just smash your Demis in the face? Again, so sorry. Oh, and if any more are played I have 3 more Maelstrom Pulses in my deck (and that's if I don't draw a Thought Hemy first). "
Good argument. Everything dies to some form of removal, so by your logic, it makes no sense but to play anything BUT removal.
Anyway, I will go out on a limb here and say that this is far superior to Spiritmonger -- everyone's favorite 6/6 for five. This has evasion and a disruptive ability, which are both far more benefical than monger's load of misleading and ineffective ones.
