Sry I am new to magic, does the ability activate only when you attack the player or if it is blocked by a creature as well? If so does the creature have to have 6 toughness for the ability to activate? Also, the dual mana symbol means any combo of 5 red or green mana?? Thanks.

@WarioMan: No: The Deus's ability only works once for each instance of "6 or more" damage dealt to your opponent. However, if you give it double strike (Runes of the Deus) it can destroy two lands on a single attack because it deals two instances of "6 or more" damage to your opponent when it hits.

I love this card. A 6/6 Trampler for five CMC is enough for me, but then they tag on his ability. It can really get batshit crazy if you give him Runes of the Deus, Mage Slayer, or both. This is but a mere testament to how good the Lorwyn/Shadomoor Spirit Avatars and their respective Auras were... except for Nobilis of War, by comparison. His aura, Scourge of the Nobilis, was pretty good though.

I think this card's amazing, double strike and any power boosting effect just causes win. I think it could be combined with Vigor for some serious damage.
