Common Grixis creatures tend to be useless. See Shore Snapper, Undead Leotau, Skeletal Kathari, and, of course, the famous Viashino Skeleton.

Not absolutely terrible, but definitely not impressive.

I made a point about "extinct" creatures and how they should flavourfully be bad (see Viashino Skeleton).
This is one of those cards: They went extinct because they died off due to natural selection. It's just a shame they are being forced into this world that has evolved beyond them and judged unfairly.
...Almost like an analogy for power creep.
