I really appreciate Wizards printing cheap alternatives to the somewhat pricy dual lands from M10. It's almost enough to forgive them for making the walletslayer.

@SuicidalTendancies:
You do realize that Frost Marsh is a Snow Land, right? It can do things that Jwar Isle Refuge can't, like pay for Rimebound Dead 's regeneration. People need to stop spouting the words "strictly better" in the comments all the time. It's getting a little annoying, especially because the majority of them are incorrect.

Beautiful card that isn't heinously expensive and gives lots of players access to multi-lands... good stuff. The 1 point life gain is a nice compensation for the "enters tapped" effect.

4.5/5

A decent alternative for those of us too damn broke to shell out for Darslick Shores or the other more pricey dual lands. The 1 life doesn't seem like much unless you're playing with a deck that has a couple of Phyrexian Mana spells. This is a Blue-Black Budget Player's best friend!

Creeping Tar Pit is the way to go, though this one isn't so bad for your everyday Joe Budget-Player.

@SuicidalTendancies
It's not a snow land, ergo, not strictly better.
And it's certainly not strictly better in a Near-Death Experience deck or a deck that capitalizes on Death's Shadow.

Cards that are truly "strictly better" than others are actually very rare in MtG, although it does exist, as in the case of Shock and Lightning Bolt.

However, even some "strictly worse" cards can (and some say should) be run alongside or even instead of their "strictly better" counterparts, especially if you know your opponent plays with Meddling Mage, Pithing Needle, Phyrxian Revoker, etc.
