Yes, I'm pretty sure both palace guards die, along with 2 attacking 1/1 creatures.
What I'm wondering is if I use 1 Palace Guard to block say, 5 4/4 creatures. Do I get to block all 5, therefore taking no damage that turn & losing Palace Guard, or does it only block 1 of the 4/4 creatures, killing Palace Guard instantly, and letting the other 4 spill over and damage me for 16 damage?

Same question as "bauble". Can I block 2 (or more) 4/4 (or tougher) creatures, or does the 1st kill off PG and let the other(s) through?

Oh, and even though Holy Day rotated out we will still have Brave the Elements in Zendikar now at least.

Palace guard+Armored Ascension+Indestructibility
meet the great wall of china
@bauble+vituevsvice: the guard dies, but the other attackers wont get through because he destracted them long enough that the retreating creatures push them back

Man, I love cards like this. Add this guy to elspeth and you've got an infinite blocker for a while.

Palace Guard and Brave The Elements is a good combo if you have a lot of one color comeing your way, but play Indestructibility and your all most given the win
the art work is not bad to
all in all, its a great card
i run two in my agro soldier deck

ive actually used that armored acention + palace guard + indestructibility combo. it makes for complete domination. its hard to let an attacking creature survive, let alone deal combat damage to player. i sat back the rest of the game and laughed.

How about Shield of the Righteous along with the other ideas.
