Seems pretty horrible, but better with Contagion Clasp around.

Okay, that is still pretty bad, but maybe they will print a Training Grounds for artifacts at some point. Yeah, right.

....or, you could play this and Clasp and Everflowing Chalice, but by that time you will probably be dead. Onto the crazy Cloudpost combo...

Pretty good in a draft.

There might be a way to break it, but the amount of time and mana it takes just to get a couple of 1/1s out makes this card unremarkable in itself. Perhaps the bugs could have had flying or something... Or maybe there ought to have been a Phyrexian equivalent to Ant Queen.

EDIT: Called it! Phyrexian Swarmlord

Make a deck featuring at least 3 of these, 2 Parallel Lives, 4 Phyrexian Swarmlords, an Overwhelming Stampede, and a bunch of token boosting stuff and you've got yourself a mean Phyrexia deck. If the opponent uses prevention spells, just attack next turn with even more insects! You may want to add Vorniclex to the deck to mana-ramp, and Omen Machine is evil.

In my opinion, the best Trigon. At worst it can make chump blockers that make your opponents creatures smaller. At best, it generates multiple 1/1s that can get past blockers ( as.suming that you have bigger infects out, such as Cystbearer or Putrefax) to dish out multiple poison counters

Somehow, people don't think this is any good. Pop in a chump blocker, shrink enemy creature, proliferate, repeat. Much mayhem will be caused.

I have had fun with this in draft, but if you are drafting infect Trigon of Rage is the way to go, even if you can;t recharge it. a 1/1 infect vs a +3/+0 on an unblocked attacker.... red card wins.

This is the best if you've got a slow infect deck, but I have been running it with lots of cheap infectors like Glistener Elf allowing you to be able to spend the mana on something like this to buy you time until you can afford the bigger stuff in maybe turn 4 or 5. And it's great if you just need something for metalcraft.

Compare to the black Trigon, this one creates 1/1 with infect, which potentially the same effect as the black one in combat. Green one is more to my liking.
