His flavor text says he's a mercenary. Why does he not have Mercenary in his creature types?

artwork is great
that is about it
his planar chaos version is many times better, maybe if they had dropped the U in his cost, or given him vigilance, or first strike, some kinda ability, then he would be worth 3 or 4 stars, as he is, his dragoons from time spiral is even better, same cmc but a 2/5 with vigilance and you gain 4 life

I just think it's awesome that an otherwise throwaway card was brought back (in a way), and given some good treatment. Kudos to that, and pretty much nothing else.

A player's opinion of Jedit is a pretty good notion of whether he was playing when Legends was around. At the time, this guy was awesome. He was a big tiger guy, a legend, and had a gold frame and everything. Every player after that looks back and realizes that this guy was pretty bad even for the era.

It's almost as if they thought requiring more than one color of mana was a benefit that had to be offset by a higher casting cost.

It really says something about this card's badness when you see how much he changed for the planar chaos version compared to the others.
Crovax- Gets +1/+1 and a pay 2 life: bounce him ability, loses flying (since he isn't a vampire anymore)
Braids- Puts cards onto the battlefield instead of sacing them
Akroma- Colorshifted protections, Trades haste, first strike, and vigilance for uncounterable, morph and firebreathing
Mirri- P/T switched, Gains flying instead of forestwalk and haste instead of vigilance, and gets the traditional vampire feeding ability for +1 CMC
Jedit- Loses 1 cmc, gains forestwalk and the ability to make 2/2 forestwalking cat tokens whenever he attacks or blocks.

Or you can just toss some black in your deck for Dakkon.

If nothing else. . . he's multicolored for Knight of New Alara, is a cat for Raksha Golden Cub, is power 5 or greater for various Naya themed cards in Shards of Alara block, has his cost reduced by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, and being a legend counts for various nice cards from Kamigawa. He's like a balanced version of Storm Crow. That card is way OP.

Did anyone else ever think about that legendary fail of a game "Cheetahmen 2" when they saw this? Be sure to google/youtube "Cheetahmen 2" if you don't know wtf I'm talking about.
