I wish you could hit your opponent with the artifacts that you sacrifice. Then my johnny side could get off to this card.

I saw someone have this out, and bomb 8 artifacts with a Creeping Corrosion at pre-release, yeowch.
Great in a Liquimetal Coating Viashino Heretic Destroy deck. Actually I recant that, AMAZING in that deck. Destroy any permanent, deal damage to them = to the mana cost, & on top of it all just chuck on an extra 2 damage.

There are two major problems that I see with this card: 1) It's useless againt the enemy unless their deck happens to have a lot of artifacts in it. And you usually won't know that ahead of time. 2) If you do decide to use this card in one of your decks, you'd better not plan on using any other artifacts besides this one.

This does little to nothing against affinity in Legacy. It's just a bad card. It's ok against Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek

Liquimetal coating land destruction decks can really make a lot of use for this gem since the land is still counted as an artifact as it hits the grave. The same thing applies about viridian reveal
